Our highly skilled team — including Site Supervisors, Carpenters, Labourers and Apprentices — delivers projects of all sizes, from small carports to large agricultural and commercial sheds. We specialise in custom-designed sheds, patios, workshops, awnings and carports to suit any property and budget.
At ShedEx Mackay, we make the entire process simple. We manage the full project from design, engineering and council approvals through to slab, construction and final certification. Kit-only buildings are also available for DIY customers.

Brad Gardner, Director
Brad leads ShedEx Mackay with the expertise, integrity and work ethic expected of a true third-generation builder. Growing up in a family business specialising in commercial construction, he gained hands-on industry experience from an early age.
With more than 30 years of practical construction experience, Brad has delivered projects ranging from small residential sheds to large commercial facilities across Queensland. His background in carpentry, site management and estimating gives him a comprehensive understanding of every stage of the building process.
Brad’s collaborative approach, combined with his broad experience across commercial, industrial, residential and rural sectors, makes him a trusted expert in delivering strong, durable steel structures. He is driven by strong family values and a genuine pride in local craftsmanship.

Bec Gardner, Group Business Manager
With over 25 years of experience in accounting, finance and business administration within the construction industry, Bec oversees financial management and governance at ShedEx Mackay, ensuring consistently high standards of compliance and professionalism.
Her background across both residential and commercial sectors enables her to streamline processes and enhance systems. Bec also contributes to human resources and marketing, combining analytical expertise with practical insight to strengthen the overall customer experience at ShedEx Mackay.
Casey Cain, Construction Supervisor
Casey is a qualified builder with over 15 years of experience in residential and commercial construction, backed by strong business management skills. Before joining ShedEx Mackay, he founded and operated his own residential construction company, gaining extensive experience in end-to-end project delivery.
Throughout his career, Casey has completed full builds, heritage renovations, extensions and customised construction projects. His skills span quoting, client communication, subcontractor coordination, safety management, budgeting, scheduling and onsite supervision.
At ShedEx Mackay, Casey oversees every stage of the construction process — from quoting and design support through to site management and final handover. His technical expertise, clear communication and commitment to precision ensure every project is delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.
Alex Gardner, Carpenter
Alex is a qualified carpenter and a 4th generation builder, bringing a strong foundation and passion for construction to the ShedEx Mackay team. Having grown up in the industry, he has developed practical, hands-on experience across a range of construction activities from an early age. In addition to his carpentry skills, Alex is an experienced operator of skid steers and excavators, making him a key contributor during early project stages such as footings, site preparation and shed pad construction.
At ShedEx Mackay, Alex plays a key role on site, contributing across all phases of construction. His capability in both structural and civil aspects of a build brings added versatility and helps drive efficiency on every project. Alex also brings a bit of personality to the team as the proud owner of ‘Diesel’, the ShedEx Mackay Kelpie Koolie mascot. With a strong heritage behind him and a commitment to quality workmanship, Alex is a valued part of the next generation of ShedEx shed builders.
